The larger-than-life lobster dinner is embellished with tassels, sparkles, and sequins, exploring queerness through excessive adornment. A typically utilitarian lobster cracker is transformed through a shimmering disco-ball surface. While humorous and playful, this work also asks: is there space for difference at the family table? The work also speaks to the shifting perceptions of lobster, which was once seen as a working-class food, and is now a symbol of wealth.
